A historic town going back centuries
The town of Long Eaton lies just inside Derbyshire, to the south-west of Nottingham. Long Eaton has been inhabited at least since the creation of the Domesday Book back in 1086. Towards the end of the 19th century it became a thriving industrial town as part of Nottingham’s lace trade, as well as through railway wagon manufacturing with the arrival of the railways.
Thanks to its rich history, Long Eaton is home to multiple examples of fine architecture, such as the Palladian Long Eaton Hall, Victorian architecture and industrial architecture in the form of old lace mills.
Nowadays, Long Eaton still has lots going on in the form of its own high street, supermarkets, leisure centre, pubs and eateries, making it a popular place to relocate your business. It also has a railway station with regular rail links to Nottingham and Derby, as well as regular bus services to both cities, ideal for commuting. West Park is a large park in Long Eaton that is used for recreation and for seasonal events such as firework displays.
